A transfer between your own companies is not an expense.

Your spreadsheet doesn’t know that. It adds everything in the column. Bookkeeping IQ keeps every set of books at once — your personal finances and as many companies as you run — and knows the difference between money spent and money moved.

And it’s intelligent about the busywork: it reads your receipts, spots the charges that repeat, keeps them posting on their own, and tells you what’s missing before your accountant does.

The $17,000 that moved between your own companies sits below the line, where it belongs. Nothing you have to remember to subtract.

Snap it and it’s booked

Photograph a receipt on your phone. Merchant, date, GST, QST, and the card’s last four are read in about two seconds; the app proposes where it goes and you tap once. Every confirmation makes the next guess better.

Find what you forgot

Drop in a card statement — a file, not your banking login — and it shows you what’s on the statement but missing from your books. That’s the deduction you’d otherwise have lost.

Set it once, it posts itself

Rent, the mortgage, the phone and internet bills — set a recurring rule (daily, weekly, every two weeks, monthly, quarterly or yearly, even specific weekdays) and it books itself on schedule. The app also watches your history and spots charges that repeat, so it can offer to set the rule up for you.

Add the receipt later

Entered something from your statement and found the receipt afterward? Attach the image to the transaction anytime — and let the app read it to fill in the tax breakdown and fix any number you typed, for you to confirm.

Hand your accountant a real package

General ledger, trial balance, chart of accounts, GST/QST summary, shareholder loan statements, capital asset register, and every receipt filed by date. Excel, PDF, English or French — see a real sample above.

Unlimited sets of books at once

Personal bookkeeping, operating companies, holding companies, online businesses — as many as you run, with no limit, each with its own fiscal year-end. Transfers between them are paired and net to zero, and never counted as expenses.

Money in any currency

USD software subscriptions, foreign invoices — stored in the original currency with the exchange rate and the CAD amount, never flattened. Run an online business? Its sales pull into the ledger automatically — Stripe today, more platforms on the way — so you never re-enter a payout, fee, or refund by hand.

Invite your accountant and your team

Give your accountant a read-only login to the entities you choose. Add staff, partners or a bookkeeper with read or edit access, per entity — reading is free. Every change is logged where you can see it.

Pricing

Start free — every account reads 25 receipts a month at no charge, forever. Paid plans are billed once a year and cover reading more receipts and statements. Typing a transaction in yourself is always free and always unlimited, including after you’ve used your last parse.

For heavy months and multiple operating companies

Counters reset on the first of each month. Change plans mid-year and the upgrade is prorated for the rest of your term — you only pay for the time left. Need more than Max? Add 100 parses a month for $30 a year, also prorated. Go over your cap and manual entry keeps working — always free, always unlimited. Reading the books is always free; a team member with edit access is $15 a year, prorated.

We never ask for your banking login

No bank connection, no aggregator, no credentials. Reconciliation works from a statement you upload — a file, like any other. Your data is encrypted, exportable in full at any time, and every change is logged where you can see it.
